UP PSC Pre Result 2016 | Cut off marks

UP PSC Pre Exam Result 2016 and Cut off

After many alterations in exam date, UP PSC Prelims Exam 2016 was successfully conducted  at various centers. Very large number of candidates appeared in this examination in anticipation to be gazzeted officer in Uttar Pradesh. The exam was conducted into two parts viz. General Studies – I and General Studies – II. 

UP PSC Pre Exam Result 2016 will be based on the cut off marks on both the papers. Candidates, who will clear the cut off marks in each paper and also clear the minimum eligible marks in the examination will be selected to give UP PSC mains exam 2016.

In first shift, 9:30 am to 11:30 am, General Studies – I paper of UP PSC Prelims Exam 2016 was conducted. There were 150 nos. of questions were asked in this paper, with difficulty level of easy to moderate. Below is the graph showing topic-wise number of questions asked in the examination -

According to experts and difficulty level, a score of 140 to 150 numbers could be the cut off marks for UP PSC Pre Exam 2016 paper I.

In second shift, 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, General Studies – II paper of UP PSC Prelims Exam 2016 was conducted. There were 100 nos. of questions were asked in this paper, with difficulty level of easy to difficult. Maximum questions were asked with moderate difficulty level. Below is the graph showing topic-wise number of questions asked in the examination –

On the basis of difficulty level and experts’ advice, a score of 120 to 130 numbers could be the cut off marks for UP PSC Pre Exam 2016 paper II.

UPPSC Pre Exam 2016 Cut off marks

 Cut off marks will differ according to category of the candidates. So, the expected cut off marks for -
General category: between 280 – 355 marks,
OBC: 255 – 325 marks, 
SC: 230 – 298 marks,
ST: 200 - 295 marks

 *All the marks are out of 400

Final list of selected candidates will be appeared on the official website of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission in the section of UP PSC Pre Exam Result 2016.

      The mentioned cut-off is based on the analysis of experts. Original cut-off may differ, it may also go down, just hope for the best.

      For general, expected cut-off is higher than that of your calculated number.

      It is advisable not to lose hope for the same, as this cutoff mentioned is only on the basis of experts' advice.

      Reason behind moderate cutoff marks is because of two reasons -

      1. Difficulty level of the paper, cutoff comprises of both the two papers.

      2. Number of candidates appeared in UP PSC Pre Exam 2013.

      284 is good marks as far as UP PSC Pre Exam 2013 cut off is concerned. The cutoff mentioned by us is based on experts' opinion only. So, the cut off marks may differ, but the chances for higher cut off is low.

      The cut off of female candidates may differ (slightly lower) from the male candidates (in general category), but this will be applicable for the female who are permanent resident of U.P.

      Thank u soooo much for motivating me for the preparation of exam, I have one quary also, I have already given interview for pcs exam two times inbetween 2006, 2007 but I did not crack this exam.       Candidates can avail reservation facility in only one category i.e., either Female (U.P. domicile only) or SC/ST/OBC category.

      As far as your marks are concerned, it seems you are having chances, but not very sure.

      Dear, there is hardly any links between previous year paper and present year question paper. Hence the cutoff will be different.

      205 is 51% marks, which is assumed to be fair marks in this type of competitive exams.

      As far as chances are concerned, you might get selected, but it will depend on the performance of other female candidates also.
