Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), which is India’s largest steel producing company, and also amongst Maharatna of the country has given notification for the recruitment of 330 nos. of vacancies for Trainee - Operator cum Technician at its Bhilai Steel Plant.

Below are the name and number of the positions –

Operator cum Technician (Trainee)

1. Metallurgy (58 nos.)
2. Electrical (25 nos.)
3. Mechanical or Mechtronics (167 nos.)
4. Computer Science or IT (5 nos.)
5. Electronics (65 nos.)
6. Instrumentation (10 nos.)

Eligibility:

Age: as on 1^st Sept’13 age of the applicant must be between 18 to 28 years

Relaxation in age and reservation in vacancies will be given as per the Indian Government norms.

Educational Qualification:

Diploma with relevant stream

Physical Standards: It is essential for the candidates to meet the below physical criteria -

Selection procedure:

• Written Exam
• Interview (only those candidates who will clear the written exam)

Finally selected candidates will be undergoing 2 years on-the-job training and after the successful completion, candidate will have to undergo a probation period of 1 year.

Salary of SAIL OCTT

• 1^st Year (during on-the-job training) – Rs. 10,700/- per month
• 2^nd Year (during on-the-job training) – Rs. 12,200/- per month
• 3^rd Year (one year probation at S-3 grade) – Rs. 9,160 – 3% - 13,150/- per month

In addition to this, medical facility for family plus accommodation will also be given

• Click on “Career” Section and see under the heading “Bhilai Steel Plant” and click on “Online Application for Operator cum Technician Trainee”.
• Before entering into online application, it is required to use atleast one year old email id in registration process. Also, soft copies of your photograph and signature (in jpg or jpeg format less than 500 KB).
• Fill the required details, upload the picture & signature and clicks submit to the application form.
• After this, a Registration Slip will downloaded with URN (Unique registration number), take the print out of the same as it will be required for further recruitment process. This registration number will also be used to Download SAIL OCTT AdmitCard.

Application Fee

An application fee of Rs. 250/- for General & OBC candidates and Rs. 50/- for SC, ST and PWD candidates will be applicable.
